Potsdam Conference
During the summer of 1945, shortly after the surrender of Nazi Germany, the Allied forces plan out the post-World War II world. During the conference the Allies agree to divide Vietnam in half at the 16th parallel. The northern portion of Vietnam will be invaded by the Chinese while the southern portion will be invaded by the British. Also, the French are granted imperial control of Indochina (Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia) once the war is over. Lastly, on July 26, 1945, the Allied forces offer Japan an opportunity to unconditional surrender.
